Over 99% Enumeration Forms Distributed in Uttara Kannada; Voters Can Seek Free Assistance, Says DC Lakshmipriya

Karwar: Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer K. Lakshmipriya has announced that more than 99 percent of the enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls have been distributed across the district.

Chairing a meeting of representatives of various political parties at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday, she said that voters facing any confusion while filling out the forms can contact the free voter helpline at 08382-1950 for guidance and assistance.

To facilitate the form-filling process, voter assistance centres have also been established at all polling stations by the Zilla Panchayat. Voters have been urged to make use of these centres and the helpline to clarify doubts and ensure timely submission of forms.

The Deputy Commissioner further stated that enumeration forms have also been delivered to the residences of voters who have migrated outside the district. Such voters can submit their forms online and, if necessary, request transfer of their names after the publication of the draft electoral roll. She emphasized that every voter who has received the enumeration form must fill it out and return it.

Lakshmipriya added that detailed progress reports regarding the electoral roll revision exercise are being regularly shared with all political parties. She urged party representatives to verify cases related to migration, deaths, duplicate entries and other discrepancies through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and extend full cooperation to ensure the successful completion of the revision process.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sajid Mulla, Congress District Vice-President K. Shambhu Shetty, CPI(M) representative Shantaram Nayak, CPM leader Yamuna Gavkar, BJP representative N.S. Hegde, JDS leader Suraj Nayak Soni, Uday Bhovi, Election Branch Shirastedar Sheikh and other officials.
