Over 30 Injured in KSRTC Bus and Lorry Collision Near Mundgod
Several women and children were among the injured in the head on crash, while both drivers sustained serious injuries.

More than 30 people were injured after a KSRTC bus and a lorry collided head on near Sharifajjan Temple at Kavalakoppa in Mundgod taluk on Sunday.
According to officials, the KSRTC bus was travelling from Hangal to Mundgod, while the lorry was on its way from Mundgod to Sirsi. The accident occurred on a downhill curve, where the two vehicles crashed into each other with great force.
The impact severely damaged the front portions of both the bus and the lorry. A large number of passengers suffered injuries, with women and children making up a significant share of the victims. Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Soon after the crash, local residents, police personnel, and emergency response teams rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the Government Hospital in Mundgod for initial treatment. Those with serious injuries were later referred to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi for advanced medical care.
Mundgod police visited the accident site, inspected the scene, and managed traffic on the highway. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The collision disrupted traffic on the national highway for some time. Normal movement of vehicles was restored after police and local residents cleared the road.
