The accident occurred near Green Valley School on a sloping section of the national highway. At the time, traffic had been stopped and barricades were placed on the road as authorities were working to remove a goods lorry that had earlier met with an accident.

Nagendra and several other local residents were standing by the roadside watching the vehicle being removed.

Meanwhile, another lorry carrying rubber from Kerala towards Maharashtra was travelling down the slope when it suddenly went out of control.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into four motorcycles parked along the roadside before hitting a police patrol car that was stationed nearby.

Nagendra, who was standing close to the motorcycles, was struck by the lorry and died at the scene.

Following the incident, a team from Byndoor Police Station reached the spot and assessed the situation.

Police shifted the deceased’s body for a postmortem examination and registered a case in connection with the accident. Further investigation is underway.
