NWKRTC Clarifies Student Bus Pass Issue, Distribution Continues Without Interruption
Transport corporation urges students not to believe rumours and confirms that bus pass counters remain operational across the region.

Karwar: The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has issued a clarification regarding reports claiming that the distribution of free and concessional student bus passes has been suspended. The corporation has confirmed that no bus pass counters have been closed and that the issuance of passes is continuing as usual.
The clarification was issued by the Public Relations Officer of NWKRTC in Hubballi to address confusion and concerns among students and parents.
According to the corporation, applications for student bus passes for the current academic year have been accepted through the Seva Sindhu portal since May 29. The printing of bus passes also began on June 1.
Official figures show that a total of 4,108 applications had been received across the corporation’s jurisdiction by June 7. Out of these, 3,635 applications have already been approved, while the remaining applications are currently under verification.
The corporation has categorically stated that student bus pass counters have not been shut down for any reason and continue to function normally.
NWKRTC further informed that the state government is expected to release fresh guidelines regarding free and concessional student bus passes shortly. The corporation has assured students that if any changes are announced under the new guidelines, those who have already paid and obtained passes will be considered for refunds in accordance with government rules.
Students have been advised not to pay attention to rumours or misleading information. The corporation has encouraged eligible students to apply through the Seva Sindhu portal, pay the prescribed fee where applicable, and obtain their bus passes without delay.
The transport corporation also appealed to students to make effective use of public transport facilities for their daily travel needs.
