NSS Day: Students Spend Time with Special Children, Visit SIR Help Centre in Bhatkal
NSS volunteers distribute play materials and learn the importance of service and social responsibility
Bhatkal, September 26: As part of NSS Day celebrations, the NSS unit of Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, Bhatkal, visited Wisdom Special Children’s School and the SIR Help Centre on Saturday.
During their visit to Wisdom Special Children’s School, NSS volunteers distributed play materials to the children and took part in various games and learning activities with them. The students interacted warmly with the children and spent meaningful time with them, gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of service, empathy and compassion.
School President S.M. Shakeel, Moulavi Yasir Barmawar Nadwi and Abdur Rahman Basha Ruknuddin briefed the volunteers about the objectives behind the establishment of the school, its activities and the education and training provided to children with special needs.
The volunteers later visited the SIR Help Centre, located around two kilometres from the school. Tanzeem SIR Committee President Mubashshir Hallare explained the activities of the centre and the assistance and guidance being provided to the public regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
Tanzeem General Secretary Moulavi Azizur Rahman said that people should come forward to serve others whenever they are in need. He encouraged the students to develop a spirit of volunteerism and a strong sense of social responsibility.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of college Principal Prof. Mohammed Yusuf Kola and the leadership of NSS Officer Prof. Damodhar Naik.
Prof. B.H. Nadaf, Kaleelullah, Prof. Maimunisha and Prof. Saniya Parveen were also present on the occasion.
