Dr Usmani emphasised the need for young poets and emerging writers to explore contemporary themes in their Naats and reflect the concerns and realities of the present age. He also appreciated Bhatkal’s literary tradition, particularly its contribution to Urdu and Naat poetry despite the town being geographically distant from major Urdu speaking centres.

He said Bhatkal holds a distinctive place in the country for its continued efforts to promote and preserve Urdu literature.

Earlier, Mehfil e Sher o Adab President Syed Ahmed Salik Nadwi explained the purpose of the gathering. He said the organisation seeks to bring young poets together under the guidance and mentorship of experienced literary figures to support their intellectual and artistic development.

In his presidential address, Dr Muhammad Hanif Shabab congratulated Moulavi Samaan Khalifa Nadwi on publishing the collection and conveyed his best wishes.

Several poets recited their Naats during the programme, including Dr Muhammad Hanif Shabab, Moulavi Raif Kola Nadwi, Moulavi Shaqran Ghazi Nadwi, Abdul Aleem Abu Nadwi, Syed Ahmed Salik Barmavar Nadwi, Iqbal Saeedi and Moulavi Samaan Khalifa Nadwi.

Students of the Aaliya classes at Jamia Islamia Bhatkal also participated in the gathering. Renowned local Naat reciters Hafiz Raid Quazi and Hafiz Abdul Hadi presented Naats that were appreciated by the audience.
