Murdeshwar Hosts First Seerah Quiz for Parents to Strengthen Connection with the Prophet’s ﷺ Life
Around 60 parents participate in a unique quiz designed to promote Islamic values and better child upbringing
Murdeshwar, August 31, 2026: In a first of its kind initiative in Murdeshwar, a Seerah quiz titled “Me and My Guardian” was organised for the parents and guardians of school students at National High School, Murdeshwar.
The programme focused on encouraging parents to learn about the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and apply its teachings in their daily lives. Speakers also highlighted the important role of parents and guardians in the religious, moral and overall upbringing of children.
The unique competition was organised jointly by the Maulana Abdul Bari Nadwi Rahmatullahi Alaih Diniyat Club of National High School, Murdeshwar, and the Maulana Muhammad Mubeen Khan Nadwi Rahmatullahi Alaih Diniyat Club of Government Urdu Model Boys Primary School, Murdeshwar.
As part of the competition, participants were initially provided with 100 questions, of which they were required to answer 60. The examination was held on August 24 at Government Urdu Model Boys Primary School and National High School, Murdeshwar. Around 60 parents and guardians took part.
The prize distribution programme began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Muhammad Furqan, followed by a Naat presented by Amina Sarwar. Maulana Shuqran Nadwi explained the objectives of the competition, while Hafiz Saadan Khan welcomed the guests and compered the programme.
Dr. Usman Armar, President of the Muslim Educational Society, presided over the programme. Maulana Abul Aala Gangavali Nadwi, Mahatamim of Madrasa Al Faizaat, attended as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abul Aala Gangavali Nadwi stressed the importance of following the example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in raising children and protecting them from negative influences.
He said the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ should not be viewed merely as history or a collection of stories, but as a complete guide for life. He urged parents to make greater efforts to connect their children with Islamic teachings and moral values.
Referring to the challenges faced by children today, he said issues such as children staying outside home late at night and growing weaknesses in religious and moral values highlight the need for stronger parental guidance and greater engagement with the Seerah.
Dr. Usman Armar congratulated all the parents who participated in the competition. He encouraged them to strengthen their connection with their faith, focus on the proper upbringing of their children and incorporate Islamic teachings into their daily lives.
Four participants secured equal marks in the competition. Their positions were subsequently decided through a lucky draw. The first prize was ₹3,000, the second prize ₹2,000 and the third prize ₹1,000.
Atifa Parveen, guardian of Abu Ruhan, son of Muhammad Shafi Budna, a Class 10 student of National High School, secured the first position.
Samra Sana, guardian of Raifa, daughter of Abdul Razzaq Roda, a student of Government Urdu Model Boys Primary School, secured the second position.
Nasreen Alji, guardian of Khadija Noor, daughter of Arafat Alji, a student of Government Urdu Primary School, National Colony, and Nazia Sarwar, guardian of Iqra, daughter of Warith, a student of Government Urdu Girls Primary School, jointly secured the third position.
Consolation prizes were also distributed among the remaining participants to appreciate their enthusiasm and encourage them to continue learning about the Seerah.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Maulana Abdul Mateen Nadwi, teacher at National High School, Murdeshwar, and Nayeb Nazim of Madrasa Arabia Taleemul Quran, Tengingundi.
