Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi Elected President of Jamiatul Salihat Bhatkal
New leadership elected following the demise of former president Abdul Hameed Damudi
Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi has been elected as the president of Jamiatul Salihat, a prominent institution in Bhatkal dedicated to providing religious education and training to girls.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the institution’s 21 member trust following the demise of its former president, Abdul Hameed Damudi.
Established in 1974 by the late Mohiyuddin Muneeri, the institution has completed more than five decades of service in the field of Islamic education for girls. Jamiatul Salihat currently has more than 550 students enrolled.
Over the years, more than 1,500 female students have graduated as Aalimahs from the institution, while over 1,000 students have completed Hifz of the Holy Quran.
In addition to its Aalimah programme, the institution offers a one year diploma course in basic Islamic studies. It also runs Maktab Al Salihat for young girls and special Quran memorisation classes after Asr prayers.
The institution operates its main campus in Sultani Mohalla and also has a branch on Azad Nagar Jali Road.
During the trust meeting, other office bearers were also elected unanimously. Maulana Mohammed Ansar Khateeb Nadwi was elected Vice President, while Maulana Mohammed Ilyas Faqih Ahmed Nadwi was appointed as Nazim.
Maulana Khalilur Rahman Muneeri was elected Deputy Nazim, and Janab Muhtasham Abdul Rahman Jan was appointed as Treasurer.
