Mankal Vaidya Says All 136 Congress MLAs United Behind High Command During Karnataka Leadership Transition
The senior Congress leader dismisses speculation of internal divisions and reiterates full support for the party's central leadership.

Bhatkal: Karnataka Fisheries and Ports Minister Mankal Vaidya has asserted that all 136 Congress MLAs in the state are united and committed to following the decisions of the party high command amid the ongoing leadership transition in Karnataka.
Speaking to reporters in Bhatkal, Vaidya dismissed reports suggesting differences within the Congress Legislature Party and emphasized that there is complete consensus among lawmakers regarding the party’s direction. He stated that every elected representative is prepared to abide by the instructions issued by the central leadership.
His remarks come in the wake of the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the expected elevation of Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to the state’s top post. The political developments have sparked intense discussions regarding cabinet formation and portfolio allocation.
Vaidya said that while several legislators may aspire to hold ministerial positions in the new government, such aspirations should not be interpreted as signs of disunity. According to him, the Congress has a well established internal decision making process, and all leaders respect the final decisions taken by the high command.
The minister expressed confidence that the transition of power would take place smoothly and that the new administration would continue to function effectively without disruption.
Meanwhile, senior party leaders and legislators have been engaged in consultations regarding the composition of the next cabinet. Party sources indicate that efforts are underway to ensure balanced representation from different regions and communities while finalizing ministerial appointments.
Vaidya reiterated that maintaining party unity remains the top priority and said Congress legislators are determined to work together under the leadership chosen by the party.
