Mamata Banerjee Accuses BJP of ₹1,000 Crore Deal Ahead of Bengal Polls
West Bengal Chief Minister levels serious allegations of bribery, poll manipulation, and secret deals as political tensions escalate.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of attempting to influence voters through bribery ahead of elections.
Addressing rallies in East Burdwan and Bankura districts, she described the ongoing revision of electoral rolls as one of the biggest scams in recent times. Banerjee claimed that if the BJP comes to power in the state, it would strip people of their rights and fail to deliver on its promises, as she alleged had happened in other states.
She further alleged that the BJP has struck a deal worth ₹1,000 crore to defeat her party, the All India Trinamool Congress. According to her, central forces deployed in polling areas are misusing their authority under the guise of security checks, particularly targeting women.
Banerjee also warned voters about possible attempts to manipulate the election process. She urged people to remain vigilant while casting their votes and to keep a close watch on voting machines. She alleged that there could be deliberate delays in both voting and counting as part of a broader strategy.
In a bold political statement, Banerjee predicted that the BJP-led central government would fall within 2026. She said that once that happens, all policies she described as anti-people would be rolled back.
Her allegations also referenced a viral video involving Humayun Kabir, leader of the All India United Party. Banerjee claimed that Kabir was in contact with BJP leaders and involved in a deal to divide minority votes in exchange for large sums of money. However, the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified.
Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath kicked off his party’s campaign in West Bengal with the slogan “Bangla Chup Thakbe Na” meaning Bengal will not remain silent. Speaking at a rally in Bankura, he criticized the state’s current condition and blamed successive governments, including the Trinamool Congress, for pushing Bengal toward economic and administrative decline. He compared the situation to Uttar Pradesh before 2017 and claimed that improvements there came after BJP came to power.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a rally in Siliguri, where he targeted the state government over funding for madrasas. He alleged that large sums were spent for political gain while development was neglected. Modi further criticized the Trinamool Congress government, saying it must be held accountable for its years in power.
