Madeena Welfare Society Bhatkal Honours Students at Educational Awards Programme
A total of 83 awards were presented to students for outstanding achievements in education during 2024 and 2025.
Bhatkal: The Madeena Welfare Society Bhatkal organised an educational awards programme on Saturday night at Madeena Jumma Masjid to recognise and encourage students who achieved notable success in different fields of education during 2024 and 2025.
A total of 83 awards were presented during the programme. The awards were divided into seven categories, covering students who completed memorisation of the Quran, those who completed Fazilat studies, and students who successfully completed SSLC, PUC, degree and higher education programmes in various fields.
The event was aimed at encouraging students and young people to pursue education, recognising their achievements and motivating them to reach greater heights. Religious scholars, educationists, social figures, parents and students attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Shakirullah Rashadi, Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Bilal in Bengaluru, praised the educational and social initiatives undertaken by the Madeena Welfare Society.
He said the religious and moral development of young people had become an important responsibility in the present circumstances. Expressing concern over increasing substance abuse and what he described as growing moral challenges among the younger generation, he stressed the need for timely guidance and counselling.
Maulana Shakirullah said young people needed proper religious, moral and intellectual guidance to remain firmly connected to their values. He also highlighted the importance of creating institutions and support systems that could help guide the younger generation.
Appreciating the educational and social work being carried out in Bhatkal, he encouraged other religious scholars to visit the town and observe its various community initiatives. He said investing time and resources in the guidance and development of young people was a valuable service that could have a lasting impact on future generations.
Yunus Qaziya, president of the Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen Bhatkal, stressed that education should go hand in hand with character building. Recalling the role his teachers played in his own development, he said education combined with proper upbringing had a lasting influence on a person’s life.
He urged students to respect their teachers and appealed to parents to monitor their children’s screen time and encourage them to take part in constructive activities.
Qaziya also advised young people to avoid speeding on roads and strictly follow traffic rules. He encouraged students to consider civil services as a career and said the community needed greater representation in the field.
He expressed his willingness to support young people who seriously pursue civil service careers, including helping with their education and preparation expenses when required.
Programme convenor Rameez Kola presented details of the award recipients. Madeena Welfare Society General Secretary Maulana Abdul Samee Nadwi conducted the programme.
Madeena President Maulana Irfan Nadwi congratulated all the award winners and thanked everyone who contributed to the event. The programme concluded with prayers.
