KSRTC ‘Pallakki’ Bus Catches Fire in Haveri, Driver’s Swift Action Saves 17 Passengers

Seventeen passengers narrowly escaped harm after a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus caught fire in Haveri district on Tuesday.
The incident involved a ‘Pallakki’ service operated by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation. The bus was travelling from Bengaluru to Gadag when the fire broke out अचानक while it was moving along a highway near Devarudda village in Ranebennur taluk.
Driver Pakkirappa quickly noticed the flames and acted without delay. He brought the vehicle to an immediate stop and ensured that all passengers got down safely. His prompt response helped avoid any injuries or loss of life.
Despite the successful evacuation, the fire rapidly spread and completely gutted the bus.
Police from Ranebennur Rural Police Station reached the scene and carried out an inspection. A case has been registered, and authorities have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
The incident highlights the importance of alertness and quick decision making in preventing tragedies on the road.
