The Karnataka government has launched the upgraded KSRTC AWATAR 2.0 platform along with a new WhatsApp ticket booking service, making it easier for passengers to access public transport services across the state.

The upgraded platform, known as the One Karnataka Mobility App, brings the digital services of four state run transport corporations onto a single platform. These include the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation, North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.

Chief Minister D K Shivakumar launched the upgraded application and WhatsApp ticketing facility at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Thursday as part of the state government’s 100 day programme.

The government said the initiative is designed to provide passengers with a single and convenient digital platform for accessing transport services.

The new application includes secure login and authentication features. Passengers can verify their identity, view previous bookings and manage their transactions through the app.

A unified grievance management system has also been introduced. Passengers can submit complaints related to any of the four transport corporations through the same platform instead of using separate systems.

Users can also track the progress of their complaints and escalate them when required. The system allows passengers to follow their cases until they are resolved.

The government also plans to introduce digital monthly bus passes in phases. Once available, passengers will be able to purchase and manage their monthly passes through the app. The passes will include QR codes for digital verification.

WhatsApp ticket booking

Passengers can now book tickets through WhatsApp for services operated by KSRTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC.

To begin a booking, passengers can send a WhatsApp message to +91 6364940880.

The interactive system follows a process similar to the existing KSRTC online reservation service. Passengers need to enter their starting point, destination and travel date before selecting their preferred bus service.

They must then provide passenger details and verify the booking information before proceeding with payment.

The service supports multiple payment options, including UPI, credit cards, debit cards and digital wallets.

Once the payment is completed successfully, passengers will receive their booking confirmation and e ticket through both WhatsApp and email.

The WhatsApp service also allows passengers to cancel their bookings. To cancel a ticket, users need to select the Ticket Cancellation option and provide their PNR number, mobile number and transaction password received during the booking process.

Help for passengers

Passengers requiring assistance with reservations or facing difficulties while booking can contact the KSRTC call centre at 080 26252625, which operates 24 hours a day.

The AWATAR Cell will also provide assistance from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Passengers can contact the cell on 7760990034 or 7760990035.
