Khan Sir Rules Out Court Surrender in Patna Coaching Centre Case, To Seek Anticipatory Bail
The popular educator's legal team says he will pursue legal relief through the courts instead of surrendering.

Well known educator and coaching institute owner Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, will not surrender before the Patna Civil Court in connection with the recent coaching centre violence case.
His lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahaur, confirmed on Saturday that Khan Sir has no plans to surrender and will instead seek anticipatory bail through legal channels. The announcement has put an end to speculation that the educator might hand himself over to authorities to avoid arrest.
According to the legal team, the deadline for filing an anticipatory bail application had passed on Saturday. As a result, the petition will now be submitted before the court on Monday. The defence is currently focused on securing temporary legal protection for Khan Sir.
The controversy began after a violent incident at Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna on June 2. Videos that circulated widely on social media showed a large crowd creating disturbances outside the institute. The footage appeared to show people attacking a security guard, throwing stones, and tearing posters.
Initial reports suggested that gunshots had been fired during the unrest. However, Patna Police later dismissed those claims after conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
As part of the ongoing probe, police have already arrested two personal security guards associated with Khan Sir and sent them to judicial custody. Investigators had also summoned Khan Sir for questioning shortly after the incident as they sought to determine the circumstances behind the violence.
The case has attracted significant attention in Patna, particularly because the area is known as a major hub for coaching institutes and student activity. The incident has raised concerns among students and coaching centre operators across the city.
Attention is now focused on Monday’s court proceedings, where the anticipatory bail plea is expected to be heard. The outcome could play a key role in determining the next phase of the high profile case, while police continue their investigation.
