Karnataka to Set Up Second Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi for UPSC Aspirants, Says CM Shivakumar
The new facility will offer affordable accommodation and academic support for Karnataka students preparing for civil services examinations in New Delhi.

New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced plans to establish a second Karnataka Bhavan in the national capital to support students from the state preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations.
The Chief Minister made the announcement during an interaction with successful civil servants and aspiring candidates. He said the initiative is aimed at easing the difficulties faced by students who move to Delhi each year in pursuit of civil services coaching and preparation.
According to Shivakumar, many aspirants struggle with the high cost of accommodation and living expenses in Delhi’s coaching centres. The proposed Karnataka Bhavan will provide affordable lodging and other essential facilities, reducing the financial burden on students and their families.
The new complex is expected to include residential accommodation, study halls, a well equipped library, and high speed internet connectivity. These facilities are intended to create a comfortable and productive environment for students preparing for competitive examinations.
The Chief Minister said the government is committed to increasing Karnataka’s representation in the country’s administrative and police services. As part of the initiative, senior IAS and IPS officers from the Karnataka cadre serving in Delhi will be encouraged to mentor students and share their experience through regular guidance sessions.
To speed up the project, the state government has instructed the concerned departments to identify suitable land or an existing building in New Delhi. Shivakumar assured that the required funds would be allocated quickly so that work on the facility can begin without delay.
The proposed Karnataka Bhavan is expected to become a major support centre for civil services aspirants from the state, providing both academic resources and affordable living arrangements in the heart of the national capital.
