Bengaluru (Fikrokhabar News): Karnataka’s electorate has reportedly fallen to 4.55 crore following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with nearly 99 lakh names excluded from the final voter list.

The revision has brought renewed attention to the electoral registration process and the need for voters to verify their details in the published list.

The Special Intensive Revision is intended to update electoral rolls by checking voter information and identifying entries that require correction or removal. Such revisions can involve cases of deceased voters, duplicate registrations, changes in residence and other eligibility related issues.

However, the exclusion of a large number of names has raised concerns about ensuring that eligible citizens are not inadvertently left out of the electoral rolls.

Voters are advised to check their registration status through the official Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka website at https://ceo.karnataka.gov.in/en.

Anyone who finds their name missing or notices incorrect details should contact the relevant election authorities and follow the prescribed procedure to seek inclusion or correction.

The removal of a name from the electoral roll does not, by itself, establish that the person is ineligible to vote. Eligible citizens should verify their status and take the necessary steps to ensure their names are included.
