Karnataka SIR Completes 100% Digitisation, Over 1.09 Crore Voters Marked ASDDO
Enumeration forms for all 5.54 crore electors have been digitised, while more than 33.61 lakh voters remain unmapped in the ongoing electoral roll revision.
Bengaluru: The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka crossed the 100% mark for digitisation of enumeration forms on Sunday, August 9, according to data released by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
The forms of all 5,54,32,314 registered electors in the state have now been digitised.
Of these, 4,45,18,538 electors submitted signed enumeration forms to Booth Level Officers. Another 1,09,13,776 electors, accounting for 19.69% of the total, have been placed under the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Others category, known as ASDDO.
Over 1.09 crore voters listed under ASDDO
The ASDDO figures include 15,65,838 electors who were recorded as absent or untraceable.
Another 65,85,791 voters, or 11.88%, were listed as having permanently shifted from their registered addresses.
The data also identified 16,35,759 electors as deceased and 6,92,272 as duplicate or already enrolled.
A further 4,27,119 electors were placed in the Others category. This includes people who were unwilling to sign their enumeration forms.
Over 33 lakh voters remain unmapped
The digitisation data also provides details about how voters were linked to previous electoral rolls.
Around 1,76,68,045 electors, representing 31.87%, personally mapped their names to the previous electoral rolls.
Another 2,34,54,791 electors, or 42.31%, were mapped through the names of their family members.
However, 33,61,876 electors, accounting for 6.06%, remain under the no mapping category.
This category covers voters who were unable to locate their own names or the names of their family members in the 2002 electoral rolls.
Over 12 lakh applications received
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has also received applications from voters seeking additions and corrections to the electoral rolls during the revision process.
Between June 16 and August 8, a total of 12.68 lakh applications were received.
Of these, 3,95,781 were Form 6 applications seeking inclusion in the electoral rolls.
Another 8,37,514 applications were submitted through Form 8. This form is used for requests such as changing residence, correcting details in the electoral roll, replacing an Elector Photo Identity Card and updating information related to disability status.
Separately, 7,05,062 electors have submitted their enumeration forms. Around 9,000 of these forms were still awaiting verification by Booth Level Officers, according to the CEO’s office.
Officials warn voters to verify their status
Election officials said voters whose enumeration forms have not been signed and submitted to Booth Level Officers will not be included in the electoral rolls.
This applies to electors listed as absent or untraceable as well as those who have permanently shifted.
Names categorised as deceased or duplicate will be removed from the electoral rolls as part of the revision process.
Voters placed under the no mapping category will be given an opportunity to establish their eligibility.
Officials said notices will be issued to such electors at a later stage, asking them to submit the documents specified in the enumeration form.
August 17 deadline for checking ASDDO list
Under the revised SIR schedule, electors have until August 17 to check the ASDDO list published on the Election Commission’s website.
The list has also been provided to recognised political parties and Booth Level Agents.
Electors and political parties who find errors in the ASDDO list can approach the concerned Booth Level Officer or Electoral Registration Officer and request corrections.
Officials also said eligible voters who have submitted Form 6 applications will be included in the final electoral rolls after the necessary verification.
The ongoing revision is therefore entering a crucial stage, with voters urged to check their status and report any discrepancies before the deadline.
