In Bengaluru, Karnataka Housing and Waqf Minister B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan responded to a protest letter reportedly sent by several Muslim organisations to the Congress high command.

Zameer Ahmed stated that he came to know about the letter through media reports and noted that it was signed by around 15 to 16 community leaders. He clarified that he could not speak on their behalf and suggested that their reasons should be directly addressed to them.

Rejecting allegations of discrimination against Muslims, he firmly said that the Congress government treats all communities equally and does not allow bias at any level. He also pointed out that differing opinions are common in politics and not every viewpoint requires serious concern.

Commenting on disciplinary action taken against senior leaders Naseer Ahmed and Abdul Jabbar, the minister questioned the procedure followed. He said that if any leader is found involved in anti party activities, action should be taken, but only after following proper steps such as issuing a show cause notice and reviewing the response.

He added that other leaders, including Satish Jarkiholi, have also expressed similar views, stressing the importance of due process before taking disciplinary measures.

Responding to warnings in the letter about teaching the Congress a lesson in upcoming elections, Zameer Ahmed said the government would reach out to community leaders, understand their grievances, and work towards resolving the issues through dialogue.
