Karnataka Minister Denies Allegations of Mass Copying in SSLC Exams
State government dismisses claims of widespread malpractice, assures strict monitoring and fair evaluation.

The Karnataka government has rejected allegations of large scale cheating during the SSLC examinations, with Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa stating that the claims are baseless and misleading.
Responding to concerns raised in public and on social media, the minister clarified that the examination process was conducted under strict supervision across the state. He said multiple measures were put in place to prevent malpractice, including the deployment of vigilance squads and enhanced monitoring at exam centres.
According to officials, any isolated incidents reported during the exams were promptly addressed as per established procedures. The minister stressed that such cases should not be exaggerated into claims of widespread wrongdoing.
The SSLC exams, conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, are a crucial academic milestone for Class 10 students in the state. Ensuring their integrity is a top priority for the education department, Bangarappa said.
He further assured students and parents that the evaluation process will remain transparent and fair. Authorities are also reviewing reports from across districts to ensure that no irregularities have affected the overall conduct of the exams.
The minister urged the public not to spread unverified information, warning that it could create unnecessary anxiety among students. He reiterated that the government is committed to maintaining high standards in the examination system.
Officials added that any confirmed instances of malpractice would be dealt with strictly, in line with existing rules.
