In a major relief for vehicle owners across Karnataka, the state government has once again introduced a 50 percent discount scheme on pending traffic fines.

The initiative aims to help motorists clear old traffic violation cases while encouraging the settlement of long outstanding penalties. A similar scheme introduced earlier had received a strong response and helped the government recover a significant amount of pending fines.

Under the latest order, vehicle owners will be able to pay only half of the penalty amount for eligible traffic violations. The special concession will be available for a period of 20 days, from June 21 to July 10.

According to an official order issued by the Transport Department, individuals with pending traffic violation cases registered between 1991 and 2022 can take advantage of the scheme and settle their dues at a reduced cost.

The order was issued by Pushpa V. S., Under Secretary of the State Transport Department. Officials expect the move to provide financial relief to thousands of motorists while helping clear a large number of pending cases.

Vehicle owners have been advised to make use of the limited time offer and complete the payment process within the specified period to benefit from the 50 percent waiver.
