JIH Karnataka Launches Statewide Seerah Campaign to Promote Prophet Muhammad’s Message
The 11 day campaign aims to reach nearly one crore people across Karnataka through books, dialogues, seminars and community outreach.

BENGALURU: Jamaat e Islami Hind Karnataka has launched its annual statewide Seerah campaign to introduce the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to a wider audience.
This year’s campaign, titled “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Torchbearer of Revolution,” will run for 11 days. Organisers said the initiative focuses on values such as peace, justice, compassion, human dignity and fraternity, while encouraging greater understanding between different communities and faiths.
Dr Mohammed Saad Belgami, Ameer e Halqa of JIH Karnataka, said the transformation brought by Prophet Muhammad began with changes in individual character and conscience before extending to society and institutions.
He said the Prophet’s teachings remain relevant at a time when the world continues to face violence, inequality, exploitation and conflict. According to him, the campaign will present the Prophetic message as one with relevance for humanity as a whole, rather than limiting it to the Muslim community.
JIH Karnataka aims to reach nearly one crore people across the state through the campaign.
Kannada writer Yogesh Master, who recently authored “Muhammad (PBUH): Cultivator of the Human Mind and Master of Hearts,” said societies should focus on values shared by people across religious boundaries.
He said his book examines the Prophet’s approach to the human mind, emotions and personality, while also exploring how these teachings can be viewed through the lens of contemporary psychology and Indian philosophical traditions.
Mohammed Kunhi, Secretary of JIH Karnataka, said the campaign would include direct outreach to teachers, bureaucrats, professionals, intellectuals and other influential sections of society.
A series of dialogues, seminars, lectures, public meetings and other programmes are planned across the state as part of the initiative.
Mohammed Yousuf Kanni, another Secretary of JIH Karnataka, said Muslims should take greater responsibility for introducing the Prophet’s life and teachings to people from other communities.
Speaking in Urdu, he appealed to mosques to set aside part of their Rabi ul Awwal funds for Seerah outreach. He said this could help distribute books and other quality material about the Prophet through personal interaction with fellow citizens.
JIH Karnataka has been publishing Kannada books about the Prophet every year as part of its efforts to make Seerah literature accessible to a broader audience.
This year, two Kannada books were released during the press conference. They are “Muhammad (PBUH): Cultivator of the Human Mind and Master of Hearts” by Yogesh Master and “Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Who Lit the Torch of a Comprehensive Revolution” by A. S. Puttige.
Organisers said the campaign is intended to address misconceptions, encourage dialogue and build greater trust between communities.
They expressed hope that the initiative would help take the message of peace, justice, compassion and human fraternity to people across Karnataka.
The press conference was anchored by Labeed Shafi, Media Secretary of JIH Karnataka.
