Israel’s “No War, No Peace” Strategy Aimed at Paralysing Gaza, Report Reveals
Analysts say long-term plan seeks to prevent Palestinian self-governance and economic independence, echoing past models used in Lebanon.
A new investigative report highlights how Israel is implementing a “no war, no peace” strategy in Gaza — a model previously used in Lebanon to maintain control while avoiding full-scale conflict or meaningful political solutions.
Under this approach, Israel aims to keep Gaza in a state of permanent instability, undermining efforts toward Palestinian unity, reconstruction, or sovereignty. The strategy includes periodic military strikes, blockade enforcement, and support for local armed factions to prevent the formation of a functional Palestinian government.
This “Lebanonisation” model, named after Israel’s long-term policy in southern Lebanon, relies on fragmentation and sustained low-intensity conflict to ensure Gaza remains politically and economically dependent.
Analysts warn that without a clear political horizon or end to occupation, this tactic risks perpetuating cycles of violence and humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
