Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States against taking further military action against Iran, saying Tehran has strengthened its defence capabilities despite previous pressure from Washington.

In a social media statement, Araghchi said Iran had emerged stronger after earlier confrontations and warned that repeating past mistakes could lead to more serious consequences. He added that military threats would not force Iran to give up what it considers its legitimate rights.

Araghchi also criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of attempting to draw the United States into another major conflict in order to protect his political position. He alleged that Netanyahu’s domestic legal troubles and political challenges were influencing his approach to regional security.

The Iranian minister’s remarks came amid renewed hostile statements by US President Donald Trump concerning Iran’s military and economic capabilities. According to the report, Trump has also expressed support for Netanyahu and warned of further action if Tehran does not change its approach.

Netanyahu, in response, reportedly thanked Trump for his support and reaffirmed their shared objectives.

The exchange of statements has raised concerns about the potential impact of political and strategic rivalries on stability in the Middle East. Observers warn that escalating rhetoric could further complicate diplomatic efforts and increase the risk of another confrontation.

Iran has maintained that dialogue must be based on sovereignty, mutual respect and international law, while warning that it would respond to any direct aggression.
