The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most critical maritime passages in the world, with nearly 20 percent of global oil supply passing through it every day. The route serves as a vital export corridor for major oil producing countries in the region.

Nations such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait depend heavily on this narrow waterway to transport their oil to global markets.

The announcement is expected to ease concerns over potential disruptions in oil supply during the ceasefire period, providing some stability to international energy markets.
