INF General Secretary Adil Nagarmath said the increasing number of heart related illnesses and sudden cardiac deaths, particularly among young people, had become a matter of serious concern. He stated that the organisation has been studying this issue for the past one and a half years and that the cardiac camp is an important step towards promoting early diagnosis and preventive healthcare.

He clarified that the initiative is purely a public service programme and not intended to promote any hospital or individual doctor. The primary aim is to encourage people to undergo medical checkups and seek timely advice regarding their heart health.

According to Adil Nagarmath, the organisers had initially expected around 300 to 400 registrations. However, due to the tremendous support from the public and various organisations, registrations crossed the one thousand mark within just four days. The camp will feature noted cardiologists Dr. Ali Faisal and Dr. Salman Salahuddin from Calicut, along with Mangaluru based cardiologist Dr. Yusuf Kumble and their respective teams. Initial screening and basic medical evaluations will be conducted on July 18, followed by detailed examinations of selected patients by specialist doctors.

Camp Convener and Secretary Gufran Lanka said that meetings were held with various institutions and community leaders, who offered valuable suggestions for future healthcare initiatives. He particularly appreciated the support and guidance extended by the management and faculty members of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal.

He further informed that registrations began on July 8 and all slots were filled even before July 12. Despite continued requests from the public, no additional registrations can now be accommodated.

Registered participants have been requested to complete their blood tests at designated laboratories by July 16. Those who fail to undergo the required tests before the deadline may have their registrations cancelled, and their slots could be allotted to individuals on the waiting list.

Gufran Lanka also revealed that if any participant is found to require advanced treatment or surgery, doctors associated with the camp have agreed to perform surgeries free of cost, while hospitals may offer discounts of up to 30 to 40 percent on hospital expenses.

Special arrangements have also been made for teachers at educational institutions by facilitating registration and blood testing within their campuses. Students of Wisdom School, which caters to differently abled children in Bhatkal, will also receive an opportunity for specialised medical examinations.

According to available data, 141 out of the 1,050 registered participants have already shown signs of heart related ailments or have a previous history of cardiac issues. These individuals have been invited for special consultations on July 19.

Organisers urged all registered participants to reach MM Siddiq Hall 15 to 20 minutes before their allotted time to ensure smooth completion of preliminary procedures and avoid unnecessary crowding.

The organisers also stated that they had met Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmipriya and invited government officials to benefit from the camp.

Several prominent personalities, including INF executive member Tanveer Motiya, Sahilonline Editor Inayatullah Gawai, Fikrokhabar’s Maulana Azhar Barmawar Nadvi, Maulana Atiqur Rahman Dangi Nadvi, senior journalist Maulana Abdul Subhan Nadvi and Wasil Shabandari, were present during the press conference.
