Karwar Ankola MLA Satish Sail has said that not being included in the Karnataka cabinet will not affect his commitment to the development of his constituency.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Karwar, Sail said he has the ability to secure all the necessary government support for his constituency. “I am the Chief Minister of Karwar. My only goal is the development of my constituency. I am not disappointed about not getting a ministerial post,” he said.

Responding to questions about the cabinet expansion, Sail said the Chief Minister had assured him of full support for the development of the constituency. Referring to his interaction with the Chief Minister, he said he was encouraged to work with the same commitment and responsibility for Karwar’s progress.

Highlighting ongoing development projects, Sail said Rs 30 crore has been sanctioned for the Belekeri Harawada bridge, which will improve connectivity from Mudaga to Gokarna. He also announced that Rs 30 lakh has been approved for the renovation of Harawada School and assured that any additional funds required would be provided from his MLA Local Area Development Fund.

The MLA said infrastructure development remains a priority. He noted that road dividers have been removed to facilitate the movement of heavy vehicles to Kaiga. He also said estimates for the reconstruction of roads and a bridge in the displaced persons’ colony would be prepared soon.

Targeting the opposition, Sail expressed confidence that his constituency would receive more government funding than it had under the previous administration. He challenged his critics to present documentary evidence for their allegations in the presence of journalists and officials.

Commenting on the functioning of government officials, Sail said newly appointed officers may need some time to understand local issues but assured that there would be no compromise when it comes to the development of the constituency and the welfare of its people.
