Hot and Humid Weather Prevails in Uttara Kannada Despite Monsoon, IMD Issues Yellow Alert
Reduced rainfall over the past few days has led to rising temperatures and uncomfortable humidity across the district.

Even as the monsoon season continues, Uttara Kannada district has been witnessing unusually hot and humid weather conditions over the past three to four days due to a significant decline in rainfall.
In view of the changing weather pattern, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for the district, warning that heat wave like conditions and high humidity are likely to persist for the next two days.
According to the weather department, the combination of reduced rainfall and increased moisture in the atmosphere is expected to make conditions more uncomfortable, particularly during afternoon hours. Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak daytime temperatures and to stay adequately hydrated by consuming sufficient water and fluids.
Special caution has been advised for children, senior citizens, and individuals with existing health issues, as they are more vulnerable to heat related illnesses. People working outdoors have also been urged to limit prolonged exposure to the sun and take necessary preventive measures.
The district administration has appealed to the public to closely follow official weather updates issued by the IMD and remain prepared by adopting suitable precautions over the coming days.
