Heavy Rain Predicted in Uttara Kannada Until May 30, Fishermen Advised to Stay Alert
The Meteorological Department has warned of thunderstorms, strong winds, and rough sea conditions along the Uttara Kannada coast over the next few days.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall across Uttara Kannada district over the next four days, with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds expected in several areas.
According to the weather department, the rain is likely to continue until May 30, prompting authorities to advise residents and farmers to take necessary precautions to avoid damage and disruptions.
The department has also issued a warning for fishermen along the Uttara Kannada coast. Sea conditions are expected to remain rough until May 28 due to increased weather activity over the Arabian Sea.
Officials said wind speeds could reach up to 60 kilometres per hour in coastal areas, making fishing activities risky during this period. Fishermen have been urged to exercise caution before venturing into the sea and to closely follow weather updates issued by authorities.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds may affect transportation, agriculture, and daily activities in parts of the district over the coming days.
