Gruha Jyothi Survey Deadline Set for October 31, BESCOM Rules Out Extension
Beneficiaries who missed the door to door survey must submit the required documents at their BESCOM sub division office before the final deadline.
Bengaluru (Fikrokhabar News): The survey of beneficiaries under Karnataka’s Gruha Jyothi scheme within the Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) jurisdiction will conclude on October 31, with no further extension of the deadline, the utility has clarified.
BESCOM has urged beneficiaries who have not participated in the survey to visit their respective sub division offices and submit the required documents before the deadline. The opportunity is intended particularly for customers whose houses were locked or vacant, or who were otherwise unable to participate in the survey.
According to BESCOM, the verification exercise has been underway for around three and a half months. As of October 22, the survey had been completed for 73,17,687 out of 74,29,773 beneficiaries across eight districts under its jurisdiction, achieving a reported completion rate of 98.49%.
The survey also covers beneficiaries registered under the Bhagya Jyothi, Kutira Jyothi and Amruta Jyothi schemes.
BESCOM personnel reportedly visited locked and vacant houses up to three times during the exercise. SMS alerts were also sent to beneficiaries in these categories, requesting them to participate in the verification process.
The electricity supply company has described October 31 as the final opportunity for eligible beneficiaries who have not completed the process to submit their documents. No further extension will be granted, it said.
