Lorry-Car Collision on NH 66 Near Pangala Kattikere Turns Fatal
A speeding lorry flattened a car on the Mangaluru-Udupi highway, killing one person and leaving two others in critical condition.
A collision between a lorry and a car on National Highway 66 near Pangala Kattikere in Kapu turned fatal on Friday morning. The car, which was travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi, was completely flattened in the impact.
One person died at the scene, while two others sustained serious injuries. Local residents were the first to respond and helped rush the injured to a nearby hospital.
Police personnel from Kapu Station arrived shortly after and secured the area. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the collision. Details about the victims have not been released yet.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety on NH 66, a stretch that has witnessed several serious accidents in recent years.
