Farooqi Mosque Reopens in Bhatkal After Renovation
The renovated Farooqi Mosque (Masjid Umar Farooq) was inaugurated with Asr prayers, highlighting the importance of keeping mosques active and vibrant.

Bhatkal: The newly renovated Farooqi Mosque, also known as Masjid Umar Farooq, was formally reopened on Wednesday with the Asr prayer. The inauguration prayer was led by Qazi Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, Bhatkal, Maulana Abdul Rab Nadvi.
A special programme was held on this occasion in which prominent scholars addressed the gathering. Speakers emphasized that while building a mosque is a great act of reward, it is equally important to ensure that the mosque remains active and well-attended. They reminded worshippers that maintaining regular prayers and religious activities in the mosque is a shared responsibility of everyone connected to it.
The scholars expressed satisfaction over the existing arrangements for prayers and Quranic education at the mosque and encouraged further strengthening of these efforts. They also recalled the sincere efforts and sacrifices of the former Imam of the mosque, Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Mulla Nadvi, highlighting his services in keeping the congregation connected to the mosque.
Senior community member Master Shafi Shah Bandri shared his memories of the mosque’s past and paid tribute to former office-bearers and benefactors who contributed to its development and maintenance.
The programme was addressed by several notable scholars, including Maulana Abdul Rab Nadvi, Maulana Maqbool Ahmed Nadvi (Mohtamim, Jamia Islamia Bhatkal), Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi (President, Jamia), Maulana Abdul Aleem Nadvi (Imam and Khateeb, Jamia Masjid Bhatkal), and Maulana Zakir Nadvi (President, Line Sports Center), among others.
The gathering concluded with a concluding supplication (dua) led by Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi.
