Kumta: Following strong public criticism over severe rainwater accumulation near Nellikeri College, authorities have launched drainage improvement work to prevent further incidents and ensure safer movement for students and commuters.
The issue came to light after rainwater flowed across the road like a stream, creating hazardous conditions in the area. The situation sparked concern among residents and parents after a female student reportedly lost her balance and fell while passing through the flooded stretch.
In response to public complaints and media attention, the concerned departments and local administration moved quickly to address the problem. Efforts are now underway to improve the drainage system and prevent water from collecting on the road during heavy rainfall.
