DK Shivakumar Government Allocates Key Portfolios; Major Departments Assigned to Senior Ministers
New Karnataka cabinet portfolio distribution announced; Finance retained by Chief Minister, Home assigned to Priyank Kharge, Health to U.T. Khader.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government has officially announced the allocation of portfolios in the newly formed cabinet led by Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar. The notification, issued by the Governor of Karnataka, outlines the responsibilities assigned to key ministers in the new administration.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will oversee the crucial departments of Finance, Cabinet Affairs, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Intelligence, and all unallocated portfolios.
Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara has been entrusted with the Revenue and Sports portfolios.
Among the other major allocations:
K. H. Muniyappa – Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs
K. J. George – Energy and Tourism
M. B. Patil – Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development
Ramalinga Reddy – Major & Medium Irrigation
Satish Jarkiholi – Public Works Department (PWD)
Krishna Byre Gowda – Greater Bengaluru Development, including BMRCL and BWSSB
Priyank Kharge – Home (excluding Intelligence), IT & BT, and E-Governance
U. T. Khader – Health & Family Welfare
Eshwar Khandre – Rural Development & Panchayat Raj
Yathindra Siddaramaiah – Urban Development and allied urban planning authorities
Byrathi Suresh – Transport
Sharan Prakash Patil – Medical Education & Skill Development
The portfolio distribution marks the beginning of the new government’s administrative agenda, with several senior leaders being assigned departments considered vital for infrastructure, governance, health, urban development, and economic growth.
