District Administration Orders Pre Monsoon Testing of Drinking Water Sources in Uttara Kannada
CEO Dr. Dilish Shashi stresses clean water supply and better coordination among departments before the monsoon season.

Karwar: Uttara Kannada District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dilish Shashi has directed officials to inspect and test all drinking water sources before the onset of the monsoon to prevent contamination and ensure public safety.
Speaking at the District Water and Sanitation Mission Committee meeting held at the District Panchayat Hall on Monday, Dr. Shashi emphasized the importance of maintaining safe drinking water facilities across the district.
With schools, colleges and Anganwadis set to reopen soon, he instructed officials to verify the quality of drinking water supplied to educational institutions and residential areas. He also asked departments to ensure uninterrupted access to clean and safe water for the public.
Dr. Shashi highlighted that proper coordination between departments is essential for the smooth implementation of water supply projects. He warned that lack of coordination could inconvenience the public and slow down development works.
He also instructed HESCOM officials to provide electricity connections immediately after the completion of Jal Jeevan Mission works so that there is no disruption in water supply services.
Officials were further directed to submit detailed and accurate proposals related to ongoing and upcoming works before presenting them to the Task Force Committee. Dr. Shashi stressed that departments should work together while preparing estimates and project reports.
District Panchayat Deputy Secretary Alla Bhaksh, Chief Accountant Anandasa Habib, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department Executive Engineer H. Satyappa and other officials attended the meeting.
