CM Announces Plan to Set Up Superspecialty Hospital in Karwar
State government aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in coastal Karnataka.

Karwar: The Karnataka government will establish a superspecialty hospital in Karwar to improve access to advanced medical care in the coastal region, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said the proposed hospital would offer specialised treatment facilities, reducing the need for patients to travel to cities like Mangaluru or Bengaluru for advanced healthcare services. He emphasised that strengthening healthcare infrastructure in smaller towns remains a priority for the state government.
According to a report published by The Times of India, the new superspecialty hospital is expected to provide modern medical services and improve emergency care facilities in the district. The move is seen as a major boost for residents of Uttara Kannada district, who have long demanded better healthcare infrastructure in the region.
Further details regarding the hospital’s location, budget allocation and timeline for completion are expected to be announced in the coming months.
