Bhatkal Tanzeem raises concern over delays in birth certificate issuance

Bhatkal: A delegation from Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal met City Municipal Council Commissioner Baba Mane to raise concerns over delays in the issuance of birth certificates. The organisation called for immediate administrative reforms to resolve the issue and reduce the difficulties faced by residents.

During the meeting, Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem President Inayatullah Shah Bandari said the organisation has been receiving repeated complaints from the public regarding delays in obtaining birth certificates. He noted that the problem is affecting people in matters related to education, legal documentation and other essential services. He stressed that issuing such important documents on time should be a top priority for the administration.

Former Acting President of the Bhatkal Municipal Council Mohiuddin Altaf Kharuri said many residents are forced to make repeated visits to the municipal office, yet several applications remain pending for long periods. He also highlighted the difficulties faced by people returning from Gulf countries on short vacations, saying many are unable to complete essential documentation before returning abroad because of the delays.

General Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadvi also called for prompt action to address public grievances and improve administrative efficiency. He said ensuring convenient and timely public services is the need of the hour.

After hearing the delegation, Commissioner Baba Mane assured them that the matter would be reviewed. He said the municipal administration would take the necessary steps to remove obstacles in the birth certificate issuance process so that residents can receive the documents without unnecessary delay.
