Bhatkal Tahsildar Donates Water Purifiers to Government Schools as a Meaningful Farewell Gesture
Outgoing Tahsildar Nagendra Kolashetti provides water purifiers to five government schools, promoting safe drinking water for students.

Bhatkal: While farewell ceremonies are often a common part of an officer’s transfer, Bhatkal Tahsildar Nagendra Kolashetti has chosen to leave behind a lasting and meaningful contribution to the community.
As he prepares to leave the taluk following his transfer, Kolashetti has donated electronic water purifiers to five government schools at his own expense. The initiative reflects his concern for the health and well being of students by ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water.
The water purifiers have been installed in Government Higher Primary School, Muttalli, and the government schools at Kontavani, Mandalli, Gorate, and Nooz. The objective of the initiative is to improve drinking water facilities for schoolchildren and support a healthier learning environment.
Speaking on the occasion, District Primary School Teachers’ Association Vice President Ullas Naik praised Kolashetti’s administrative abilities and commitment to public service.
He said that despite serving in Bhatkal for a relatively short period, Kolashetti successfully coordinated employees across different departments and handled various government surveys and administrative tasks in an organized and efficient manner. He added that although many were disappointed by his transfer, his decision to donate water purifiers to schools from his personal funds demonstrated his dedication to the welfare of students and education.
The gesture has been widely appreciated by local residents, parents, and members of School Development and Monitoring Committees. Many expressed hope that his example of combining public service with social responsibility would inspire other government officials.
Headmasters Uday Surve, Suresh Murudeshwar, Mohan Naik, assistant teachers Vijay Narvekar and Prasad Hebbar, along with several others, were present during the programme.
