Bhatkal Organisation Felicitates U T Khader and Mankal Vaidya, Seeks Completion of Pending Development Works
Leaders call for better roads, sanitation and basic facilities as Khader and Vaidya assure continued support for Bhatkal’s development
Bhatkal: The Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal organised a felicitation programme for Karnataka Health Minister U T Khader and Karnataka Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Mankal Vaidya at Amina Palace on Sunday night.
Both leaders were honoured with shawls and presented with appreciation letters. Various organisations and institutions from Bhatkal also felicitated the two leaders and acknowledged their public service.
Addressing the gathering, Tanzeem President Inayatullah Shahbandri said the developmental works carried out by Mankal Vaidya in the region deserved recognition. However, he stressed that several pending works still needed to be completed. He said providing basic facilities to the public should remain a key responsibility of the government and elected representatives.
Qazi Jamaat ul Muslimin Bhatkal Maulana Abdul Rabb Nadwi said people place high expectations on their elected representatives. He said a true leader should work for the welfare of the people and ensure that essential facilities are provided. Failure to meet public expectations, he noted, could lead to disappointment and have political consequences.
Welcoming the two guests, Yunus Qazi expressed his appreciation for their services. Referring to U T Khader’s electoral successes, he said his consistent efforts and commitment to public service had contributed to his achievements.
Addressing Mankal Vaidya, Qazi said some of the promises made to the people were yet to be fulfilled. He said the people were not merely seeking jobs but were also looking for better roads, cleanliness and other basic amenities. With around one and a half years remaining in the current term, he urged Vaidya to give priority to completing the pending works and fulfilling the commitments made to the people.
Deputy Speaker Mankal Vaidya spoke about various development projects undertaken during his tenure. He assured the gathering that the remaining works would be taken up after the monsoon season. He also highlighted the Karnataka government’s five guarantee schemes and said they were benefiting poor and deserving sections of society.
Health Minister U T Khader said the people of Bhatkal wanted development and that the government was working in that direction. He assured the gathering that he would extend all possible support for the development of Bhatkal in his capacity as a minister.
Khader also appealed to the people to continue supporting Mankal Vaidya, stating that representatives who are repeatedly elected are in a better position to carry development projects forward. He said that if Vaidya was elected three times, efforts could be made to address all major issues faced by the people.
Khader also spoke about ongoing efforts to establish an international museum showcasing Islamic history at the Haj House in Bengaluru. He further indicated that steps could be taken towards establishing a Mother and Child Care facility at the government hospital in Bhatkal.
He said peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths on the streets of Bhatkal was also an important sign of the city’s development and harmony.
Aftab Kola presented the appreciation letter to U T Khader, while Tanzeem Vice President Qamar Saada presented the letter to Mankal Vaidya. Representatives of various local organisations also felicitated both leaders.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Tanzeem General Secretary Maulana Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin Nadwi. Advocate Imran Lanka compered the programme.
