BHATKAL – The Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation organized a crucial awareness session at Amina Palace to educate the public about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and voter mapping procedures. The event attracted young people, social activists, and members from various community organizations.

Federation General Secretary Mubashir Hilare announced that community-level helpline centers will be established in the coming days to assist citizens with documentation challenges and the verification process. These centers will provide guidance and support to those facing difficulties.

Hilare informed attendees that certain commonly used documents are no longer acceptable for SIR verification. He emphasized that citizens must focus on preparing alternative and correct documentation to meet the new requirements. The Federation pledged to organize similar awareness programs in Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Manki, and surrounding areas.

Advocate Imran Lanka expressed concern that following various government initiatives in recent years, the voter list revision process could potentially impact many people’s voting rights. He specifically urged young voters to ensure their documents are corrected promptly.

Participants were advised to check their voter list status immediately and contact the relevant authorities if they discover any errors. Lanka shed light on the legal aspects, explaining that incomplete documentation could lead to the removal of legitimate voters’ names from the electoral roll.

“Negligence in this matter could prove damaging,” he cautioned.

The program commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Maulvi Syed Saliq Ahmad Nadvi. Federation President Maulvi Wasiullah Nadvi delivered the presidential remarks and expressed gratitude to all participants.

The awareness initiative aims to help citizens navigate the voter revision process smoothly and prevent eligible voters from being disenfranchised due to documentation issues.
