Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bengaluru Hosts Namma Milan 2026, Honours Meritorious Students and Maulana Abdul Azeem Kazia Nadvi

Bengaluru/Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bengaluru organised a special community gathering titled Namma Milan 2026 at a private hall in Bengaluru, bringing together a large number of people from Bhatkal.

The day long programme featured several activities, including recognition of students who performed exceptionally well in academics, a special felicitation for noted scholar Maulana Abdul Azeem Kazia Nadvi, competitions for children and a fundraising initiative to support medical assistance.

Before the main programme began, the names of children and other participants who excelled in Quran recitation, Azaan, fancy dress and various sports competitions were announced. The winners were presented with prizes.

The first session was hosted by Ashraf Shahbandri, while Faizan Burmavar conducted the second session.

General Secretary of Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bengaluru, Salim Kola, welcomed the guests and participants and expressed his appreciation for their presence.

Academic Achievers Honoured

Students from the Bhatkal community in Bengaluru who secured outstanding marks in their studies were recognised during the event.

Faiz Shangiri announced the names of the high achieving students, following which the students received awards from the guests on stage.

The organisers said the recognition was aimed at encouraging students to continue their efforts in education and inspiring others in the community to pursue academic excellence.

Student Paintings Auctioned for Medical Assistance

One of the highlights of Namma Milan 2026 was an auction of paintings created by students.

Participants showed considerable interest in the artwork and placed enthusiastic bids. The organisers announced that the money raised through the auction would be allocated towards medical assistance.

Several participants, particularly women, also pledged additional contributions beyond the auction proceeds to support people in need of medical help.

The initiative added a strong social welfare element to the community gathering.

Maulana Abdul Azeem Qazi Nadvi Felicitated

A special felicitation was also held for Maulana Abdul Azeem Qazi Nadvi, a respected figure from Bhatkal and among the early graduates of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal.

The organisers recognised his longstanding contributions to religious education, social service and community affairs and honoured him for his services.

Speaking at the programme, Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bengaluru President Mudassar Aikeri thanked the guests and community members for attending.

He said bringing the entire community together has become increasingly difficult amid today’s busy lifestyle, adding that Namma Milan provides an important opportunity for people to reconnect.

He expressed hope that the Nawabi community would continue moving forward with unity and cooperation.

Aikeri also appealed to people travelling to Bengaluru for medical treatment to inform the Jamaat in advance so that necessary guidance and assistance could be arranged.

He said around 16 doctors associated with the Jamaat are currently practising in Bengaluru and have been brought together on a common platform to help people access medical services more effectively.

Guest of Honour Highlights Importance of Community Unity

The chief guest, President of Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen Bhatkal, expressed happiness over attending Namma Milan 2026.

He said the event held special significance for him because his journey in community service began with the Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat Bengaluru.

Remembering late S M Yahya, he credited his guidance and support for playing an important role in his journey, saying that he may not have reached his present position without his encouragement.

He also indicated plans to meet and consult the Jamaat leadership under Vision 2030 to discuss better educational guidance for children and ways to help prepare the younger generation for the future.

Programme convenor Hood Pillour thanked Allah and expressed gratitude to the organising team, volunteers, women who supported the event and all sponsors.

He said the successful organisation of the programme was possible because of the collective support extended by individuals and institutions.

The programme began at 8 am and concluded at 5 pm after a full day of community activities, recognition and social initiatives.
