APCR Announced New Uttara Kannada District Committee, Qamaruddin Mashaikh appointed as President

Bhatkal: The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) has approved its new Uttara Kannada district committee during a meeting held in Bhatkal. The meeting was conducted by Advocate Syed Akmal Razvi, who addressed members on leadership, accountability, and the organisation’s future direction.

The newly approved committee includes Qamaruddin Mashaikh as President, Anam Ala as Vice President, Ismail Raja as General Secretary, Imdaad as Joint Secretary, and Abud Asif as Treasurer.

Addressing the gathering, Razvi said fearlessness is one of the most important qualities expected from APCR leaders. He urged the newly appointed office bearers to carry out their responsibilities with courage while remaining committed to protecting civil rights and upholding the organisation’s principles.

He also advised members not to rely solely on verbal assurances from government authorities and officials. Instead, he stressed the importance of maintaining written records of all communications and commitments to ensure accountability and proper documentation.

Speaking about the organisation’s functioning, Razvi clarified that APCR operates as an independent body and is not organisationally bound by Jamaat e Islami Hind. He said Jamaat serves only as a patron, while APCR independently manages its activities and decision making. He also urged members to maintain the highest standards of personal integrity while carrying out their responsibilities.

Highlighting the importance of unity, Razvi called on members to avoid internal divisions within the community and work together towards common goals. He said collective efforts are essential to strengthening the fight for justice and the protection of civil rights.

The meeting concluded with the formal approval of the new district committee and a commitment to expand APCR’s activities across Uttara Kannada.
