Anjuman Centre of Excellence Holds Career Orientation on CA, CS, ACCA and CMA

Around 200 commerce students attended the programme to explore professional career opportunities in finance and corporate management.

Bhatkal: The Anjuman Centre of Excellence, functioning under Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen, organised an orientation programme on Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretaryship, ACCA, and CMA in association with Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, Bhatkal. The event attracted nearly 200 students from First Year BCom, First Year BBA, and Second Year PUC Commerce.

The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Mohammed Raeed, a Final Year BCom student. The event was compered by Prof Abdul Raheem Khan, Vice Principal of Anjuman Pre University College.

Among those present were Dr Zubair Kola, Vice President II of Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen, Prof Mohammed Yusuf Kola, Principal of Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College, Prof Mohammed Ganim Mohtesham, Student Welfare Officer, Janab Yasin Askeri, and resource persons CA Kiran Ananthroy, CA Jason Castalino, and CA Deepika Vasani.

Welcoming the gathering, Prof Mohammed Ganim Mohtesham highlighted the importance of career guidance programmes in helping students make informed academic and professional decisions.

Principal Prof Mohammed Yusuf Kola encouraged students to complement their university education with professional qualifications. He said courses such as CA, CS, CMA, and ACCA could prepare students for leadership roles in the corporate sector.

Delivering the keynote address, CA Kiran Ananthroy advised students to choose careers based on their interests and passion. He emphasised that long term success comes from enjoying one’s profession while remaining committed to continuous learning and excellence.

CA Jason Castalino gave a detailed presentation on the CA, CS, CMA, and ACCA programmes, explaining eligibility criteria, course structure, examination process, duration, training requirements, and career opportunities. He encouraged students to approach professional examinations with confidence, stressing that discipline and consistent preparation are the keys to success.

CA Deepika Vasani urged students to begin their professional preparation early. She spoke about the importance of building strong conceptual knowledge, communication skills, time management, and professional ethics. She also highlighted the increasing global demand for qualified finance professionals and explained how internationally recognised qualifications such as ACCA can open doors to careers with multinational organisations.

Presiding over the programme, Dr Zubair Kola encouraged students to remain focused and dedicated to achieving their academic and professional ambitions.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Janab Yasin Askeri, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers and guest speakers. He observed that while the Bhatkal community has produced many successful entrepreneurs, there is significant potential for more professionals in specialised fields such as Company Secretaryship.

The programme concluded with an interactive question and answer session, followed by the presentation of mementoes to the resource persons.
