Moulana Fakarday began by discussing the debate among historians regarding the Prophet’s (PBUH) birth date. While some claim it was the 12th of Rabi’ul Awwal, others suggest the 2nd, 9th, or 10th of the same month. Nevertheless, what remains certain is that the Prophet’s birth and passing both occurred in Rabi’ul Awwal, a month of great significance.

The Moulana stressed that the Prophet (PBUH) marked his birthday with worship and gratitude, especially fasting, as a reminder of his mission to bring light and guidance to humanity. He urged the audience to reflect on the condition of the world before Islam—an era known as Jahiliyyah, where cruelty, oppression, and injustice were rampant.

He cited heartbreaking examples, such as people forcing slaves to be killed for entertainment and the practice of burying female infants alive. Wealth and inheritance were often unjustly distributed, and rulers were oppressive, even punishing clerics in inhumane ways. The Moulana described how the Prophet (PBUH) brought a revolutionary change in just 23 years, establishing a community based on justice, equality, and faith.

Highlighting the exemplary character of the Prophet’s companions, Moulana Fakarday emphasized that true love for the Prophet (PBUH) is demonstrated through obedience, sincerity, and living by his Sunnah. He shared inspiring stories, such as that of Abu Dujana who fought in battles ensuring the Prophet’s safety, and companions like Abdullah Ibn Masood who humbly followed the Prophet’s guidance.

The sermon concluded with a reminder that following Sunnah is a practical way to seek the love of Allah. Moulana Fakarday advised the congregation to perform simple acts of worship and kindness with the intention of pleasing the Prophet (PBUH) and Allah, and not to belittle any Sunnah, no matter how small it may seem.

He called upon everyone to embed the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in their hearts and actions, thus keeping the legacy alive in today’s world.
