19 Year Old Youth Drowns in Honnavar Sea
The deceased, identified as Tanzif Riyaz Hodikar, was a student at IKA College and had gone to the shore with two friends to cast a fishing net.
Honnavar: A 19 year old youth drowned in the sea off Honnavar, leaving residents of the area in shock and mourning.
The deceased has been identified as Tanzif Riyaz Hodikar, a resident of Roshan Mohalla. He was a student at the local IKA College.
According to information received, Tanzif had gone to the seashore at around 3 pm on Wednesday along with two friends to cast a fishing net.
During the activity, he was suddenly caught in strong waves and was swept into the sea.
Local residents and divers immediately began a search operation following the incident. After several hours of searching, his body was recovered from the sea at around 3 pm on Thursday.
A team from the Honnavar police station reached the spot after being informed about the incident and began the necessary legal procedures.
Police said the body will be handed over to the family after completion of the required formalities.
The sudden death has caused deep sorrow among residents of Roshan Mohalla as well as the local educational community.
