₹50 Lakh Cash and 401 Grams of Gold Seized from Bus in Bhatkal
Authorities confiscate undocumented cash and gold bangles from parcel on Mumbai-Bhatkal route

Police in Bhatkal have seized a substantial amount of unaccounted cash and gold ornaments from a private bus traveling from Mumbai. The discovery was made during a routine inspection of parcels being transported without proper documentation.
Officials found a blue bag registered under the name ‘Irfan’ that contained approximately ₹50 lakh in cash along with 401 grams of gold bangles. The parcel raised suspicion as it lacked any supporting documents to verify the ownership or explain the purpose of transporting such valuable items.
The seizure operation was conducted under the leadership of Police Inspector Divakar and Police Sub-Inspector Naveen. Authorities have confirmed that both the cash and gold will be held by the police until further investigation.
“The seized items will be returned to the rightful owner once they provide valid documents proving ownership and the legitimate purpose of the transport,” a police official stated.
Investigators are now working to identify both the sender and the intended recipient of the parcel. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to monitor the movement of undocumented valuables through public transport routes.
The police have registered the matter and are pursuing leads to determine the source and destination of the seized items.
