The tragic incident happened on Tuesday, October 14. An 8-to-10-inch-long “Kande” fish also known as a sucker fish jumped out of the water and stabbed Akshay in the abdomen with its sharp snout. The injury caused serious damage inside his body, including to his intestines, as his family claims.
Akshay was rushed to KRIMS Hospital in Karwar right away. Doctors treated him there for two days, stitching up his wounds before sending him home. But the pain did not stop, so he stayed at the hospital. Sadly, he passed away around 5 AM today, despite all efforts to save him.
