According to a close relative, Fahad Shabandari, the car suddenly lost control and rammed into the Kuloor Bridge. The force of the impact threw Ifham out of the vehicle, leaving him with critical internal injuries. He was declared dead at the scene.

Another occupant of the car, Mohammed Malpa (20), sustained a fractured leg in the accident and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru. The remaining three passengers fortunately escaped without injuries.

Ifham had recently completed his madrasa education and was preparing to sit for his SSLC (Class 10) examinations, a dream that now remains unfulfilled.

Following the post-mortem examination in Mangaluru, his body was brought back to Bhatkal. Funeral prayers were held at Bhatkal Jamia Masjid after Isha prayers, and he was laid to rest at the nearby graveyard.
