As part of the ongoing “Save Waqf Campaign”, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced that Friday, 19th September 2025 will be observed as Yawm-e-Duʻā (Day of Prayer) across the country.

On this day, special sermons will be delivered in mosques focusing on the religious, legal, and social significance of waqf (endowments) in Islam. Imams and community leaders will also highlight the serious implications and concerns raised by the recently passed Waqf Amendment Act, which many in the community view as a threat to the autonomy and protection of waqf properties.

Following the sermons, special prayers (duʻā) will be offered for the restoration, protection, and just administration of waqf properties throughout the country.

This observance is part of Phase Two of the Save Waqf Campaign, which is being conducted from 1st September to 30th November 2025. The campaign aims to raise awareness, mobilize legal efforts, and engage the wider public against what the AIMPLB describes as attempts to undermine community trusts and religious endowments.

Leaders of the AIMPLB have urged all Muslims to participate peacefully and in large numbers in Friday’s prayer gatherings and to stay informed about the legal and community actions being taken in response to the amendment.
