Tumakuru (Fikrokhabar News): A 35-year-old woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a stray dog on the premises of a court in Karnataka. The incident took place on Saturday at the Gubbi Court in Tumakuru district.

The victim has been identified as Gangubai, a resident of Beerasandra village in Tiptur taluk. She had come to the court in connection with a family dispute case. According to witnesses, the attack occurred when she stepped out of a public toilet within the court premises.

The stray dog reportedly pounced on her suddenly, biting her multiple times, including on the face. Locals heard her screams and rushed to help, managing to pull her away from the dog. A bystander supported her as she bled from her injuries.

The shocked and angered crowd later chased and killed the dog.

Gangubai was first taken to the Gubbi Taluk Hospital, and later shifted to a hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment due to the severity of her injuries.

In a separate incident reported from Honnali taluk, five people — including four children and one elderly person — were injured in stray dog attacks in Mavina Kote and Sasvehalli villages.

These incidents have once again raised concerns about stray dog management and public safety in rural and semi-urban areas of the state.
