Bengaluru, August 20, 2025: The Meteorological Center in Bengaluru has released its daily weather forecast, indicating calm conditions for most of Karnataka but issuing a cautionary alert for several northern and coastal districts.

While a majority of the state remains under a “No Warning” (Green) status, a “Yellow Alert” has been declared for the Uttara Kannada district, along with Belagavi, Dharwad, and Haveri. This weather watch is in effect from 8:30 AM on Wednesday, August 20, until 8:30 AM on Thursday, August 21.

The “Yellow Alert” serves as a “Be Prepared” signal for residents. According to the forecast, areas under this warning, including the coastal belt of Uttara Kannada, could experience:

  • Thunderstorms with Lightning
  • Gusty winds (with speeds of 30-40 kmph)
  • The possibility of Heavy Rain (ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm)

For residents in Bhatkal and other towns across the Uttara Kannada district, this means it is important to stay informed about the changing weather conditions. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions, as the weather could potentially disrupt daily routines.
